π OPT-OUT π
OOC PREFERENCES:
β’CONTACT METHOD: itsabee on discord | PM
β’THREAD-JACKING: Fine, unless marked private.
β’FOURTH WALLING / CANON PUNCTURE: She's an OC, so unlikely.
β’BACKTAGGING: Yes.
β’AVOIDED TOPICS:
TL;DR I don't like NPCing bigots. Text does not trigger or squick me, but I don't find it enjoyable to engage with external racism and homophobia (/other forms of hate). If it's appropriate to the setting, I'd prefer it be kept to an absolute minimum and then to move on. I mind it less when it's an internalized thing a character is dealing with.β’PREFERRED GENDER PRONOUN: They/them
IC CHARACTERISTICS:
β’CURRENT CANON POINT: Murdered by her cousin, Haran.
β’PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION:
CLOTHES: Wardrobe: Looks like a woods witch. Burnt earthy colors, layers, mismatching prints and textures, loose structures. Utilitarian boots, belts, pouches, etc.β’MAGICAL DESCRIPTION: Primarily her magical presence is disgusting. Dark, damp, and thorny. At her very center there is a very different spark of magic; faerie spark made of stardust and white-burning flame. These two aspects struggle against one another for dominance over her.
SPECIES: Human
GENDER: Female
AGE:252627
HEIGHT: 5'4"
BUILD: Sporty
HAIR: Brown, long, full.
EYES: Big dark eyes.
VOICE: Speaks English, has the softest of folksy twangs but her accent is otherwise more gramatically proper in word choice and stressed in cadence.
β’DEMEANOR: Sour, bitter, suspicious.
β’ABILITIES: Hey, please go visit her app for the full details: TLV Application | Abilities/Powers
β’MEDICAL INFORMATION: She's fine.
β’CABIN INFORMATION: Cabin. Door.
β’OFFENSIVE SUBJECTS: Don't insult her family. Only she can do that.
IC PERMISSIONS:
β’MENTAL: You need to talk to me first. She will retaliate.
β’MIMICRY: They can, but she might take out your tongue or eyes after.
β’VIOLENCE: Yes, you can. Be mindful of the state of her abilities for potential repercussions, she's not passive.
β’DEATH: Discuss this with me. I'm probably game! Please demonstrate a good IC=/=OOC divide and do not rush in to tell me that your character is going to murder mine. It's a collaborative storyline between us OOC, as players.β’MAGIC: You need to talk to me first, she does have some warding.
β’DEBATE: You can, I don't promise she'll be interested.
β’OTHER / NOTES:
β Please don't feel constrained by the fields on the forms, we can discuss and plan about anything you want to.
π True Namesπ One of a witch's greatest powers is to turn your name against you. Give a witch your full, true name and she has the secret key past your innate defenses. It makes targets [much more] open to her magical attacks, where they may have otherwise defended themselves with will power or their own spells. (Open to compromise for what's fun.)
π Reading someone's name is not the same as being told it verbally by the person themselves.
π She has a sense when someone is not giving her their real or complete name.
π It is 100% cool with me to game this OOC knowledge and plan accordingly. Lots of people have nicknames/don't give their full names π€·ββοΈ
π I won't use the power someone's name gives her without asking, but I do need to keep track of whose she has.
True Name Form
πͺ» Faerie Nonsenseπͺ» Qetzi has been fae-kissed. She always smells of flowers. If you are sensitive to glamour, she has a little shifting glow.
πͺ» Qetzi can speak faerie and conduct herself appropriately. It's very flowery and cryptic. π€·ββοΈ
πͺ» Her glamour + her faerie token allows her to evade notice when she wants to (disappear, be forgotten).
πͺ» Her faerie magic generally doesn't work on other fae/fae-touched. (Open to compromise for what's fun.)
Faerie Nonsense Form

π Character: Cho Gonou
π Real Name: Cho Gonou
π Alias/Nickname: "Cho Hakkai" -- he goes by this almost exclusively and will introduce himself by that name.
π Other: It'll probably be easy for her to find out his real name if she looks around, since many people on the Barge know it and some of them still use it! But he's very unlikely to introduce himself that way.
πͺ» What is the relationship to faeries: It really depends on how "youkai" are categorized on the faerie scale! Saiyuki canon makes it clear that youkai in other countries may look and have powers appropriate to the mythology of that country (one that they encounter from the West has big, bat-like demon wings and the capacity to possess people without their knowledge or consent, for example.) Youkai in Gonou's home country can transform into giant half-spider creatures, manifest scorpion stings, etc. He has a plant-based ability that allows him to control the vine markings on his skin and move them out into the real world to grab others.
So, it's possible that he'd read as some kind of fae-adjacent forest-power-y nonhuman being to her!
πͺ» Would you consider your character able to understand faerie-speak: No

π Character: John Silver
π Real Name: It's definitely not "John Silver." He tells stories about a little boy named Solomon that might secretly be about him, but is this because his name is Solomon or because he's cribbing from the Bible for the name of a wise character in a story? ANSWERS UNCLEAR. Canon provides none.
π Alias/Nickname: John Silver, which is the only name anyone knows him by on-Barge; he won't be giving or answering to other names.
π Other: The fact that Silver isn't his real name is also something of a secret! She's welcome to blow his cover.

π Character: Mad Sweeney
π Real Name: [Let's talk, it's complicated.]
π Alias/Nickname: He goes by Sweeney or Red, depending on whom he's with (both are interchangeable onboard). He never offers his name first; only once someone else introduces themselves. Even then, he often dances around/ignores giving his in return, but if cornered into it, he'll say 'I'm called Sweeney'. Because that's different than 'my name is'.
π Other: Just going to lump this in below.
πͺ» What is the relationship to faeries: He is one. He's a Leprechaun whose powers are diminished by his Inmate status, but he is 100% Irish faerie (full of folklore knowledge, wild magic, and time danced at sidhe balls).
πͺ» Would you consider your character able to understand faerie-speak: Yes
πͺ» Other: I'm very interested in getting to do faerie stuff. While open to ideas on what shape that would take, my general preference is for positive cr if it's available (I can do negative/neutral, if not). Sweeney is also in the process of learning magic for more direct applications, so I don't know if that's something that might be desirable on a witch-ier level as well. He's a creature made of magic, but hasn't been able to wield it in spells or the like before. He does have a Hoard, which is basically a pocket dimension/space where he can store and produce stuff he's put in there with a thoughts and flick of his fingers.
I'm planning to hit you up on discord for plotting stuff. I'm floofdoodle.

π Character: Will Graham
π Real Name: William Gregory Graham
π Alias/Nickname: He almost always introduces himself as Will or Will Graham (unfortunately close). He hasn't used his middle name his entire time on the Barge, yet.
π Other: n/a
πͺ» What is the relationship to faeries: Not much, as his canon was mundane. However- Will is Breach-bonded to Sweeney, as his brother in the Seattle fungus-zombie breach. They've both held onto this connection going forward.
πͺ» Would you consider your character able to understand faerie-speak: I sincerely doubt it. He might be able to pick up intention, though? Just through the way it's spoken and his empathy condition.
πͺ» Other: Nothing in particular, but Will would probably find her more strange aspects very interesting. He tends to be drawn towards the dark and disgusting.
no subject
Also noting that Will is now a lycanthrope, and so there's some supernatural-ness there, too. He changes often (usually giving himself an hour or two during the day), so she might see him in wolf form running down the hallways or on the Deck.

Player Name: Camryn
Character: Avalon
Name things:
π Real Name: Technically, they donβt have one, but βAvalonβ feels more like their real name to them now. They didnβt choose it for any particular reason, and no one else ever gave them a name. ETA: Their name might feel more βrealβ to Qetzi now that it feels more real to Avalon, but itβs still weaker/less potent than someone elseβs real name would be.
π Alias/Nickname: N/A
π Other: Iβd love to play with their lack of identity, and see how Qetzi reacts to this.
Fae things:
πͺ» What is the relationship to faeries: Depends on how Qetzi would contextualize Passengers (demon/spirit/etc.).
πͺ» Would you consider your character able to understand faerie-speak: Nope!
πͺ» Other: N/A
no subject
π Character: Lahabrea
π Real Name: Hephaistos
π Alias/Nickname: Lahabrea - this is more like a title of office than a nickname, and it is what he will introduce himself by instead of his given name.
π Other: While Lahabrea's name is not, precisely, a secret, the holder of the seat of Lahabrea - and others like it - are customarily referred to by their title rather than their name in the culture he comes from! He will acknowledge that it is not his real name if asked about it, but will not offer his actual name and no one currently on the Barge knows it - even his castmates know him as Lahabrea over anything else.
πͺ» What is the relationship to faeries: None - they do not exist as of Lahabrea's era.
πͺ» Would you consider your character able to understand faerie-speak: He might! He has an ability that lets him understand all spoken language, and while the Barge's translation field might make typically make this moot, it'd possibly work on faerie-speak, assuming it is actually spoken and not anything else.
πͺ» Other: Lahabrea has the ability to see magic, so he might also be able to see that a glamour is active, if not necessarily what lies underneath it.
no subject
π Character: Xigbar
π Real Name: Luxu
π Alias/Nickname: Braig/Xigbar - as far as official Barge records/announcements go he's Xigbar, but he has acknowledged that Braig is probably the most accurate to who he is right now. (He has no strong preferences either way.)
π Other: While he hasn't really been denying his name is/was Luxu and some people on the Barge do know it, he doesn't consider it the most accurate to himself as he is now. He is (very) old and has lived long enough to become different to the man he used to be.
no subject
π Character: Sebastian Michaelis
π Real Name: Β―\_(γ)_/Β― Until canon tells me otherwise I tend to assume he doesn't have a real name. He just lets his masters choose what to call him.
π Alias/Nickname: "Sebastian Michaelis". He goes exclusively by this.
π Other: Will be lowkey offended if she suggests "Sebastian" isn't his real name - it is too; his current master gave him this name. :/
πͺ» What is the relationship to faeries: He's a demon, so depending on how those fall on the faerie scale... But as far as canon tells us, he has neither met faeries nor considers himself one.
πͺ» Would you consider your character able to understand faerie-speak: Canon could stand to be more clear about if demons speak all languages, or if Sebastian is just an overachiever who's learned several languages. Um, let's go with no?
no subject
πͺ» Character: Godric
πͺ» What is the relationship to faeries: lololol faeries in Godric's canon are ridiculous, but he can sense them and sense those who have been around them (but I'm totally open to him not in her case, of course). His kind are naturally drawn to them, as faeries are like a drug to vampires, but Godric is old enough that it no longer affects him as much.
πͺ» Would you consider your character able to understand faerie-speak: Eh, unknown, but I'll say no.
πͺ» Other: Feel free to reach out for clarification or plotting on any of these points!

π Character: Norton Folgate
π Real Name: His real name appears to be, ridiculously, Norton Folgate. And he is named after a street.
π Alias/Nickname: Norton routinely introduces himself by his full name.
π Other: I'm generally down for anything plotting-wise!
no subject
π Character: Malcolm Bright
π Real Name: His birth name is Malcolm Whitly.
π Alias/Nickname: He will introduce himself as just Malcolm or as Malcolm Bright. He almost never uses his real name.
π Other: Will update when ideas come around.
πͺ» What is the relationship to faeries: None except he is in Sweeneyβs Found Family.
πͺ» Would you consider your character able to understand faerie-speak: No
πͺ» Other: None for now.
no subject
π Character: Trevor Belmont
π Real Name: Trevor Belmont
π Alias/Nickname: N/A, he regularly spells out his full name to others due to some people knowing him by first name and some by last. Opting in!
π Other: N/A, happy to launch into what you might like.
no subject
π Character: Jinx
π Real Name: Complicated! Her birth name is Powder, but she has such a strong aversion to that identity that it probably wouldn't ping as a "real name", of any sort. However you want this to work out, I welcome it!
π Alias/Nickname: Unsurprisingly, she only introduces herself as Jinx. In the logical sense, it doesn't ping as her lying, but maybe it can read (in the supernatural sense) as not-quite-the-truth.
π Other: Maybe both Powder and Jinx could be pegged as "not quite it".
πͺ» What is the relationship to faeries: N/A, though she won't ping as full human.
πͺ» Would you consider your character able to understand faerie-speak: Nope, she'll just find it very pretty.
πͺ» Other: I'm open to whatever!
no subject
π Character: Sokie Undertown
π Real Name: That's difficult to say as her name has changed over the centuries. She only two people (that I recall) know her birth name on board, which is Ana. The titles of Arch Mage, necromancer, and most importantly witch of the underway path may feel very close to a real name though.
π Alias/Nickname: She'll say her name is Sokie as this is what she usually goes by.
π Other: feel free to have her point out that Sokie Undertown is an alias! She has no problem in admitting it. Or in figuring out that names to Sokie are like clothes- to be taken off when it doesn't suit anymore.
no subject
π Character: Vash
π Real Name: Vash Saverem (Sah-vrem)
π Alias/Nickname: He only ever introduces himself as "Vash", and occasionally by his given titles of "the Stampede", "the Humanoid Typhoon", etc. He thinks of "Vash" as being his full, true name, and would be upset (the variety of upset depending on the circumstances) to be told that's not his real or full name.
π Other: He is definitely not a faerie, or fae-touched! He's a human-shaped energy generator with a nearly depleted battery so he may very well ping as nonhuman to her.
